How do you want the title set out? <composer><performer(s)> - <title>?

And what if it's a compilation of pieces under different performers, should I just mention the composer then detail on the performers in the review?

Thanks.

Also, how would you go around reviewing classical music? I don't get it.

I think composer is best if it is all their work.

It is sort of weird, as with non-classical music, you'd use the name of the coverer, rather than the original composer. However most people won't recognise the performers names, so it is best to refer to the original composer. But you should always mention the performer in the review, in my estimation.

Also, how would you go around reviewing classical music? I don't get it.The same way we review every other album Pinky. Try to describe the music at hand! Muahahaha!

The way artist typically works is by conductor's orchestra or by performer. Then in the album title it says something like "Weird AL plays Strauss" and that explains the composer. You have to realize that when you review an album you're reviewing that particular incarnation and interpretation of a certain composition, which means that though people will want to know the composer, and often it's most helpful just to read about a composer, it's more proper to do the symphony or performer.

What DFel says is true but for the context of the site I think helpful trumps proper.

I would do this:

<Performer> - <(Composer) (Piece Title)>

For example, I was planning on reviewing this album:

Janine Jansen - Vivaldi's Four Seasons

That's my $.02, but I'm no review guru.

But some albums have names that don't label what the composer and piece title are.

Not many, if any.

Generally if they don't, it is because it is a collection of pieces from different composers or different works by a composer.

In which case you should go by performer - title

If a performer has dramatically altered a work, then you can use your own judgement.
