i was tweaking with my bass, i also tried experimenting with the wirings so i end up with this setup:

No tone control
Pbass pup has volume control
J pup bypassed

and it was a dream come true! the tone of the J pup w/c is bypassed(no volume nor tone) is a killer. You know, that farting, almost fretless tone. i didnt intend to bypass it but by accident, i connected the wire directly to the output wire. :) ill post sound clips soon.

Sounds kind of cool. So basically only one knob is functioning?

disconnecting tone pots does wonders for tone.

yeah, only one pot is running. and my pickups without the tone pot is much more powerful right now! now, i respect the hoppus setup.

Take it to a music shop if you don't know much about electronics, it'll cost half of what you'll spend on the gear to do it.
And if you aren't good at soldering you'll probably make a pigs ear of it and your bass will end up unreliable and **** sounding.

Disconnect the wire going to the tone pot and connect it to the output. Take the other wire from the tone pot to the output and just get rid of it.

This could be more or less complex depending on what you have, but that's the gist of it.
