ive been playing drums for about 8 months now and i bought a double bass pedal about a month ago and havent used it very much cause im not excactly sure how to use it like when to use it and what kind of stuff to play with it like what kind of notes and everything. so ya if you could give me some tips with it and some ways i can practice with it that would be cool. thanks

I'd immagine you do 16th notes when you play double bass....

I would say so as well.

Simplest way to start incorporating double bass is to stick your metronome to 60 bpm and then just play 4 bass hits (RLRL) to a click. That's the SIMPLEST way to play double bass, and a good way to start.

Once you can do that reliably, start doing rudiments (such as paradiddles: RLRR LRLL) with your feet as well. And Stick Control.

16ths aren't all you play with double bass, though. Triplets are common, as are sextuplets and 32nds.
