Metal Zone into ESP Explorer?

Moved onto bigger and better guitars, and looking to have some fun with this beast. Has EMG 81/85 in it, want to turn it into my metal guitar. If i have the Tone shaped on the pedal, can i leave it as is when i put it in? then just mod a switch for the Distortion on/off. Possible? Extremly difficult? Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

no its an LTD, im just used to saying ESP from my new ESP V. So its a possiblilty?
