After a day of watching vids of The Roots and realizing I need to work on my grooving, my set turned out like this...

Well, both look really nice, but I will say your new set up is more..... eye catching. The old one just seems alittle plain, no offense. But yeah the new set up should be much easier to groove on.

Because having more items to use takes away from your ability to lay down a groove

It's not that it's just that other drums make me less concentrated on grooving. On the current kit grooving is all you can basically do. And they're buddy rich sticks

I love the B Rich Sticks, well the sound on the snare they make! I just dont find them comfy! I shall buy a pair. I love that set up, I'm getting mine like that this week because My tom mount has broke and I'm waiting for a new one. Good to see changes! :)

Just because its there... it doesnt mean you HAVE to play it...

I dont know, i guess if thats what you need to do to force yourself, then whatever floats your boat lol.

It's true - I took away one tom once and everything I played I had never played before. It changes everything. Changing from a 5 to a 4 piece made a huge difference. Now Im looking into a 7 piece... MMM

No one's ever going to convince me that a 3 pc. feels the same as a 5.

Great set-up.

Ahmir ?uestlove Thompson. Yes he can groove. Nice new set-up, but like it's been said before, if you keep your new kit and not use everything all of the time it'll be much more convenient and your kit will be more versitile. Although new set-ups change feel, you can't do that by not using certain things.

I like your set-up. But... I would change some things. No floor toms, and try no crash. So it's just hats, snare, bass, and ride. That makes it even better. Here's my " groove set-up " even though it's not have I described above...
