Don't adjust it. That is when it gets complicated and time consuming. You should just take it out of the box and play. Aslong as it isn't too smooth/hard? :)

^^ umm... no, every1 likes pedals adjusted differently, what if you get one that is adjusted horribly. He will have to learn how to adjust it eventually, so now is the most oportune time.

Yeh but if you go to a gig and its a quick change, you only have time to plug in guitars and play then you cant sit there playing with the pedal. You should learn to play with anything IMO. Its up to you how you have it, but that just how I feel.

woudlnt you use your own pedal, that is already adjusted to how you like it? It depends on the drummer, i barely ever play on other drumsets, but sure, i could use other bass pedals. Your reasoning in your first post to me just didnt really seem to make sense, now your backing it up with a different idea, i guess thats valid, but it isnt all that important necesarilly.

Ajust your pedal to your exact comfort levels, that will allow you to play to your maximum potential.
And Ant, usually if a gig is backlined, you still bring your own cymbals, snare and pedals! But I see what you mean by you should learn to play in any circumstance.

Yeh, I was going to say replacing cymbals too, that would take up the time. But then I thought someone would say just put your own pedal on whilst bands are changing  But I see your veiws aswell. :) I started adjusting my 5000 the other day, now I can't stand it, I prefered it when I just got it as is came lol. But thats me :)

Exactly. Remember to keep it clean well oiled, it'll last a lifetime.
It's pretty self evident what does what. As far as spring tension, the more there is, the more you have to work against.
