tone pot

lately when i turn the tone pot all the way up, there is this nasty hum... now, i had the idea of taking it off and turn my bass into a simple volume only setup. but the question is, will the hum dissapear? (i dont really use the tone knob to shape my tones)

do a proper shielding and grounding job to it. that should get rid of most of the hum. it worked wonders for my J when i put it on single coil.
