Does anyone know what kind of equipement is used for vocals effect such as an echo? Are there mic effect pedals like there are guitar pedals?

I don't think soo....if there is I've never heard of them. They usually make the effects when they put it into a recording program. You could try to use guitar pedals and make the effect. My friend tried a distortion pedal one time...he said it was kool.

You would probably want something like this: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/DigiTech-Vocal-300-Vocal-Effects-Processor?sku=150177

Most people use the effects built into their mixer when they sing live, and use computer produced effects in the studio.

And yes they do make voice effects pedals, although they are rare. I've seen some advertised in guitar magazines. You're more likely to find a vocal processor with multiple effects than a single pedal though.

I use a yamaha multi track to record everything I do and I can put up to 2 effects while recording and 2 more after the recording is done. And there are about 40 effects or so on the machine I have. So if I just put echo on one track then anything I record will ahve echo effect on it. super simple and works great :) ive seen a used one sell for 450$ on eBay..
