ok, alotta times when people customize guitars alotta times its a strat. could somebody explain why. now i;m not sayin its a bad thing but why are strats so popular to customize? is it the price? or cause you can do so much with them.

now what would be a good one to customize?

Because mainly, electrics wise, everything is on the scratchplate. There is no complex wiring through the wood in akward spots etc

Necks are if you're talking a real Strat, always bolt on, so the encks can be easily changed and modified.

The bodies are flat topped and often quite thin so any work there is quick and somewhat more simple than yer average Les paul for example.

And price, a new Fender MIM Standard can be had for under £250, a cheap copy for under £50.

There's so much you can do with them and the cost of parts helps aswell, my friend cut SG horns into his Strat looks pretty rad now and he put two humbuckers in it aswell. Theres like no end to what you can do with one. :thumb:

Yeah. You just have to drill through the pickguard, instead of the wood. So if you really stuff something up or later change your mind it's easier to fix (just buy a new pickguard).

how would this strat sound?
I guess that'll depend on how you play it and what amp you run it through.

another good reason for customising/building your own strat is theyre usually less dense woods unlike gibsons and the likes so your working time is cut down also the tighter grain also meand with the right woods you dont need to spend time filling in the grain as long as you sand it all to a very fine grade
