The local music store is offering a used made-in-korea squire p-bass (or something to that aspect) for 189$$ USA money. Is it a good deal, should I get it?

Don't buy it, you can buy new ones for around that price.

well, if its one of the "good" squiers (i think those were the korean made ones) and it plays good, go for it. the good squiers are akin to MIM and CIJ instruments (for the most part). If it plays and sounds good, i'm sure it will last with minimum maintenance.

Yeah its is good one. I've tried it and it sounds pretty good for a squire, and its a MIK and it was taken care of really well.

I got my Squier Affinity P-bass for $150. I got it because I needed a bass bad.

Most Squier parts are made in Korea, and assembled in Mexico I believe. Or all of it in China, I couldn't really find a site that gave a straight answer.

But the "good" ones most people talk about are the old ones that were made in Japan ones from the 80's.

I don't think it's that grand of a deal personally.

Use that money and get an Ibanez.

Nah, the "good" ones were made in Japan, before they moved to korea.

The good ones shouldnt sound "pretty good for a squier", the good ones should sound "pretty good for a high end Fender"
