So i am planning on building a guitar after i pay off some debts...Id like to use Purple heart for the body and neck then a dark wood(possibly Ebony im not sure yet) for the fingerboard. Anyways, i dont have much experiance in purple heart and have a few questions. How long does it retain its purple color? is it worth useing? How does it sound? anythign else would be much apreciated

as long as you finish purpleheart, it should stay purple. unfinished, it will eventually turn greyish.

it is a VERY nice wood. relatively inexpensive, but strong and durable. its tone is similar to that of ebony.

Iv heard that i was just being safe, do you think its a good idea to go wiht the purple heartneck and ebonyfingerboard
