First Act Bass Pack? Yes or No

should I buy the First Act Bass Pack from a friend for $100. I'm new to bass but not new to guitar. Just thought I'd pick a cheap little bass and amp up? Good deal?

it is just for a crappy bass just to have...comes with 15W amp. Its from a frien who never played it and thats why its cheaper. It's not like I'm setting out to be a bass guitarist. I'm all electric guitar but I just want a bass to mess around with.

do not get it. i bought it at wal-mart for $200 and the bass stopped working after a few months. no sound comes out of it what so ever. the amp is alright but thats about it. just save your money, trust me.

How much would you be willing to spend? And do you intend on getting serious about bass? If you really want to get good at bass I would invest in better gear, but if you are a guitarist who just wants to screw around with bass once and a while then honestly you would probably be best off with the First Act pack. You will be getting a crappy bass and amp, but that's better than shelling out hundreds of dollars on a bass you won't play that seriously that often.
