I can slap and pop fine its just when i try to improvise with it i get nowhere. I try to incorporate some slides, hammer-ons/pull-offs... The problem is always end up playing the same thing. I can never come up with anything new, any advice on how i can widen my playing with slapping and popping? Can anyone give me any help?
Thanks

Slap IS all the same thing. Note choice is limited, but rhythm it up. That's the secret, listen to the Marcus Miller solo in Rio Funk, not very many notes, just the normal slap vocab, but he does rhythmic stuff that is just peachy. Go.

what i feel helps alot is to make up something as a drummer plays/drum machine, the only stuff ive made up thats good slapping wise is then. follow fills/snare and whatnot

How exactly is note choice limited?
