Since I need to get more stuff out to the general public, I might sell my Blizzard bass.
It's the Black Jazz bass I made from scratch.
Right now, I'm trying to figure out a good price for it.
It has;
Maple Neck
Rosewood Fretboard
Alder Body
DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups
Black body and matching headstock
Black pickguard

The headstock decal on the first pic has been replaced with a Mother of Pearl and Abalone inlay. Here's the pic.

I'll trade you my ibanez sr305dx for it. I'll pay shipping for both instruments.

JP, how much did it cost you to manufacture the instrument (parts n such), and how much per work-hour do you think you should make for lutherie?
Also, what sort of profit margin would you be comfortable with? (Typical big American corporation actually runs at about 5-7% pure profit)

As far as parts total, it was about $300.00 for all the parts. About 20 hours at 15.00 per hour would be about $300.00. All total for the bass it would be $600.00. At 7%, that would only be $42.00 profit. This is why I am a one man operation. My labor wage is actually where my profit is.
I think some companies go well above that 5-7% profit margin. CoughAlembicCough.

I don't know if I could. Besides, if I do decide to sell it, it's going to finance a very nice scroll idea I have in mind.

^I agree.
$700-800 should seem fair.
If you were the buyer, JP, how much would you pay for your bass, without knowing the build quality or any other factors the buyer wouldn't know that you do?

most companies make well above 5-7% on their operations, but alot of it is reinvested in the company. im talking like, straight into stockholder's pockets, 5-7%.
I think 700 would be a good price for that, JP.

I was just throwing that out there, it is really all I have to offer. I am getting another bass soon and I have to get rid of a few.
