I just have a quick question.. I got a 360 and am playing it through my other pc's moniter. The only thing is I need to turn that pc on so I can run the sound through the soundcard (I guess I should pick up a reciever or something).. but it's such a pain in the *** to change the moniter from the 360 to the pc every time so does it damage the pc if you turn it off by just holding in the power button?

edit: ok nevermind i was just trying it out on this pc and i'll just use the keyboard to shut it off

It makes you do a disk check when you boot it. Since it isn't booting down properly it may loose important files.

Why not just grow some balls and unplug the monitor when the computer is on? Chances are you can pull it off. I do stuff like that all the time. Just keep your hands dry and don't touch the metal. Oh and turn your monitor off too for safety.

First of all, I already figured out I could just use the windows key + keyboard arrows to shut it off correctly, but anyway..

what the hell are you talking about. I'm using the moniter when I play 360.. it is unplugged from the pc, and if you mean unplug it from the power supply why would I do that..

I misunderstood. I thought you had a monitor hooked up to your computer and you were disconnecting it and hooking it to the xbox, and you were afraid too unplug your monitor from the computer unless it was turned off.
sorry 'bout that.

i understodd that you couldnt shut down without the monitor because you cant see to move the mouse to start shutdown etc.
so yup just set a key as a shortcut to shutdown. or win and the key is fine. also when you press the front button once doesnt it shut down? it does for most now. holding to turn it off is bad yeah shutdown is better when you can. the disk check is beacuse you can get bad sectors and corrupt the hard drive by shutting it down wrong and ive seen it happen a few times.
