Aguirre, the Wrath of God Vs. Apocalypse Now

Who's seen both these movies? Both based on The Heart of Darkness. Which one did a better job?

Which do you think does a better job at being inspired by Heart of Darkness? I think Aguirre does personally, because of the Romantic elements involved, isolating this group of people into a trap of amazon jungle and mist with a haunting musical score, and of course Aguirre the main character. Aguirre is a more minimal approach to it but I think more affective.

Never seen the other one, but Apocalypse Now is a great movie.
