So, my cheapest way was, MGS3, I couldnt figure out how to get to the guys back so I just tossed most of my WP granades at the guy, even if the guy ran, he still couldnt avoid all of them. What's yours?

Not the cheapest, but in Final Fantasy 2 (the japanese number 2) if you go to mysidia early and fight enough of the monsters to buy the weapons in the town, the rest of the game is so easy it really isn't much fun.

For the boss on Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, I lit the entire mansion up with the flamethrower from collecting hidden packages, which was OK since I was immune to fire from doing the firefighter side mission.

In Final Fantasy X, I set up a spell reflector on the last boss so that every time he healed himself, he healed my party instead.

I also set up a spell reflector on my entire party and used a multi-cast lightning spell or something, and the spell would reflect back onto the boss three times.

mgs2, planting c4 near the edge, then hanging over the edge, waiting for vamp to walk up to you, then exploding the c4. repeat this untill he's dead.

Hmm I try not to use cheap tactics but some of the games force you like using a phoenix down on dead bosses in final fantasy.

I beat that one legitimately :D

For the final mission in Guild Wars: Factions we just got a team of all tankers and beat it in half a minute.

Jigglypuff's sleep attack on such foes as Giga Bowser in SSBM. Instant kill if it lands.:thumb:

In guild wars, there was this boss who was in a temple, and I got my monk to go outside the temple and the boss targeted him, however, could only land one move through the wall [which the monk easily healed]. While he was doing this I would run up severe his arteries (health degeneration) and have the monk use his necro half to cast life siphon. We sit back and watched him die.

All things considered it really wasn't a cheap tactic. We all had -60dp and with only two human players.

Gohma in OoT, just keep shooting her when she crawls up on the ceiling.

in guild wars (not factions)

when you fight you dobbleganger load up on useless/time wasting spells. This is because he will use them too

I had a W/R and loaded up on spirits and animal spells

he dies in less than 30 seconds

Oh, using a bow and magic on Umbra from a point where she couldn't hit you in Oblivion...

God Mode, any game :p

MGS 3, when you face The End, turn you PS2 off (be sure to save) then go to the Broswer and put the clock forward like a month or so. Load up the game and The End has died from old age.

I swear there is a fighting game where you just do one move over and over and you win but I can't remember which one it is.

End boss of the original Syphon Filter. Throw a gas grenade in the doorway before you trigger the cinematics. Soon as the cutscene is over, he comes running in, eats gas and dies.

Golden Sun on the GBA (ok fine, on VBA). Fighting Deadbeard, I set up my party so that every turn I could summon either Ground with Mya or Flash with Garet; and Isaac was healing everyone, and Ivan was just pumping out the air-based spells. Longest battle ever, but Deadbeard couldn't do sh!t.

For the orange spider boss in the original DMC game, you could get him trapped against one of the tree thingys that were in the room so it was between you and him but you could still hurt him and his attacks didn't damage you. Pretty cheap, but either I wasn't very good back then or he was really hard..

Wraith of Sithis. When you do something bad in the Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion you get kicked out and you have to fight a ghost when you go to bed to get back in. Find a place with an actual bed and go to sleep. When you wake up the ghost will appear and start attacking. Use some items to counter it's magic it uses in the begining. Then it will only melee attack you. Get a silver claymore and stand on one side of the bed oppisite the ghost. when it starts to move around the bed jump over the bed and start hitting it. When it starts to come back towards you jump back over the bed and repeat the process until it's dead. If you do it right you'll only get hurt in the begining and take no damage after you counter it's spells. Since it only uses it's magic in the begining you only have to have one item. I recomend a Minotaur's horn if you can get one.

this isn't cheap, but it was an ingenious strategy that I came up with at 12.

Basically I was fighting Ganon at the end of Ocarina of Time. I ran out of magic, and had no potions. So I was screwed. I was just running aimlessly around the little arena trying to figure out what to do, then when Ganon took a swing, it hit on of the pillars, which blew apart, revealing several items. I kept manuevering him to do that until I got some green potions, when I got rid of him for sure.

One of my greatest gaming moments, sadly a memory close to 8 years old.

I can't believe that game is almost a decade old. It seems like only yesterday it was thanksgiving break in 98 while I was riding around on Epona for the first time.:(

Good times.

Mine is in Metal Gear Solid 3 too!

*SPOILERS*

When you fight The End, save the game, reset and set your PS2 clock ahead a couple of YEARS. WHen you load up that game again, The End will have died of old age! HAHA, awesome.

Definitely GoldenEye 007

There's an easy way to kill Trevelyan in the Cradle level, but an explanation of it would be unnecessarily long-winded.

Errr...?

Anyway, I know I've done a few cheap ones before, but I can't think of any at the moment.

Instead of years, months or whatever, try setting the clock ahead by. . .1 week.

That's all it takes.
