I'm a bit stumped.

I've made the new sound off feature, which is still in BETA, but I need a good way of linking it to the rest of the site. There will be the usual profile/main page stuff, but it should be linked directly from the albums/reviews as well. Currently, the soundoff page appears if there are no reviews for an album, allowing you to effectively add comments on that album.

But what about the review page? Currently I have a 'Sound Off' link at the top, but this doesn't seem to be enough. What I'm gunning for is an easily visible page where users know they can give their opinions freely.

Example page:
http://sputnikmusic.com/soundoff.php?albumid=5599

Let's say there was a real review here (which there isnt). How should this page be linked?

Maybe put it on the review's side? In the box that holds the tracklist and stuff. Somewhere in there seems like the best place to me. People always glance over at those statistics.

You have it on top of the comment box, too, correct? That should encourage enough people to write them. But I would still say move it from the top of the page into the box with the tracklist, rating, etc.

On a review page, I didn't notice it immediately, it doesn't stand out. But when I scrolled down to the bottom of the page and saw the header over the comments box, that was perfect. So maybe make it more noticeable at the top of the page, and you might also include something at the end of the review, either immediately before/after "was this review well written". Something like "Do you agree with _____? Share your opinion by sounding off".

Just a minor thing, on the soundoff comment box, it says "guidelines" but it doesn't link to anything. I assume these just haven't been written yet?

She hit the nail on the head. This seems like the most logical way to go about it.

edit: Hmm...the new location is certainly more eye-catching.

Added it to the top of the page and made more visible as per morrissey's request, which just about does it. Thanks! :thumb:
