Right, I know this thread has been done many times before, but I am very bored, and the forum needs some new threads being made.
What are some of your favourite acoustic songs by pop punk bands? They can either be songs that are originally acoustic, or acoustic renditions of other songs.
Some of my favourites are, in no particular order;
Plain White T's - Hey There Delilah
The Spill Canvas - All of their acoustic songs. But mainly The Tide.
Brand New - Pretty much all of their acoustic stuff, except for Moshi Moshi, I've never been a fan of that song.
The Starting Line - Ready / Their whole acoustic EP
Jimmy Eat World - Work (acoustic version) / When I Want / Hear You Me / Firestarter (acoustic cover) / No Sensitivity (acoustic version)
Straylight Run - Toolsheds And Hot-tubs (acoustic version) / Now My Heart Is Full (acoustic cover)
Taking Back Sunday - New American Classic / Your Own Disaster / Divine Intervention
Boxcar Racer - There Is
Jack's Mannequin - Kill The Messenger (piano solo version. Yes, piano counts as acoustic)
I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business - The whole album.
The Early November - All of their acoustic songs.
Bayside - Winter / Megan
Rise Against - Swing Life Away
Yeah, so what acoustic songs do you like? And discuss what the good and bad points are of some of the songs I've posted.

Hey There, Delilah is an amazing song.
Very beautiful. Megan by Bayside w/ Josh Caterer is one of the best songs i've ever listened to.

I forgot Bayside!
I love Megan and Winter, both are amazing acoustic songs. Will have to edit those into my list.

AFI - The Leaving Song (if that counts as acoustic)
MxPx - The A/C EP
Chris named most of the ones that came to mind for me.

As stereotypical as this may seem, Green Day- Good Ridance is actually one of my favorite tunes. I remember when I was 10 listeing to that song and taking forever to realize it was Green Day. It's simple, but uplifting.
I haven't heard too many acoustic songs by pop-punk bands, but I'm pretty interested in doing so now.

Umm...I can't really think of any off the top of my head, but for now I'll go with:
Taking Back Sunday - Cute Without the E
Brand New - Soco Amaretto Lime
Something Corporate - Me and the Moon (Since piano counts as acoustic and all.)
The Hush Sound - You Are The Moon
The Spill Canvas - Just about all of their acoustic songs
Dead Star

I have no idea, I don't listen to them much. My guitarist kept saying "LISTEN TO THIS LISTEN TO THIS IT'S COOL", though.

Alkaline Trio - Blue In the Face / Sorry About That
I forgot to put Alk3 in the list. I was planning to, and they have so many acoustic versions, and I somehow forgot.
Matt and Dan are both great on acoustic.

The Hush Sound - You Are The Moon
The Spill Canvas - Just about all of their acoustic songs
Holy crap yes...I love You Are The Moon it's soo good. Every single acoustic song by The Spill Canvas is amazing, I love them.
Also The Starting Line have an acoustic song on SILYMI "The Drama Summer" I really like that song but I think a lot of other people aren't too fond of it.

Isn't Scott playing a guitar in that, Spence?

I have no idea. I thought it was just Matt and Dan, and Derek did something to his back. Or maybe not, I haven't listened to it in a while.

Oh yeah, I meant Derek, not Scott, haha. I think Derek played guitar aswell. At the end of Hell Yes they talk to him and say "that was great", and he says "yeah im going to learn all these songs now".
That's my assumption anyway.

Yeah, in that Matt had a broken arm.
Derek and Dan both play acoustics in it, and Matt just sings.

Ah, I knew someone had broken something. With the back comment, I was thinking of Riley hurting his back and Thrice having to do an acoustic set at Warped.
Funeral For A Friend - "Your Revolution Is A Joke"
That song is the best pop-punk acoustic song. Ever. Well, as far as I am concerned anyway, it takes down anything by far. It's got a beautiful melody, the lyrics are different to most acoustics but fit it so well, and Matt's voice sounds very good in this song.
Other favourites:
NOFX - "You're Wrong"
Green Day - "Time Of Your Life (Good Riddance)"
Brand New - "The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot/Play Crack The Sky/Soco Amaretto Lime"
The Get Up Kids - "Overdue"
Say Anyting - "Belt (Acoustic)"
Bright Eyes - "Method Acting/At The Bottom Of Everything"

Crap, how did I forget The Get Up Kids and Bright Eyes? :upset: Overdue is pretty much my favorite GUK song and almost all Bright Eyes is good, too.

Brand New - Soco Amoretto Lime
That's how my friends and I are ending this summer, since we're all going away to different colleges. We're sitting above an over pass with a bottle of vodka and just drinking and talking about the 12 years we've spent together. It's gonna be wicked sad. :(
Yeah, that song is amazing.
Oh, speaking of I Can Make a Mess..., who is it that's in that band? I forget. I know the members are from some other band...
-Gav
Ace Enders of The Early November.

Even in Blackouts are an all acoustic pop-punk featuring the lead guitarist of Screeching Weasel. They're first album, Myths and Imaginary Magicians, is absolutely fantastic. It includes a great Hey Suburbia cover.
Green Day-Good Riddence
Green Day-Macy's Day Parade
BoxCar Racer-There Is
TBS-New American Classic
