Hey guys I'm a drummer but I love music and I want to learn melodic instruments. I also play guitar and tuba and as of yesterday the clarinet. Heres the thing though, I have the clarinet to play ethnic music(greek) and the guy I bought it from is going to give me lessons after I get some of the basics down. I don't think I'd be able to go to school so I figure I'll teach myself some of the basics. Could I get the fingerings to a Bb Clarinet with the Albert. Thanks in advance and any tips you guys could give would be awsome, thanks!

Apology accepted and I found both those sites and the top one is for the other system and I can't understand how to use the bottom one. I got a book though, has some minor flaws but I'm learning. Thanks for trying

Wow, Focker...I didn't know that you were into Greek music. A group that is based in Austin (where I used to live) called the 1001 Nights Orchestra had a Greek clarinet player guest for them pretty often and they did Greek music...it's cool stuff! Good luck with the instrument...I've heard that Clarinets aren't too bad as far as wind instruments go, and they have a great sound.

yea, im actually a clarintest turned drummer, so focker, you and are in the same position (sorta) you'll find that your rhythm education will help you greatly in clarinet. if you get a book (essential elements was what i used), they should have all the fingerings and basic songs that you cna get started on. Clarinet's fun, but drums are a million times better IMO

Yeah to det, if you remember I asked Josiah for some greek patterns but I started listening to alot more so I really got into the drums and they're pretty boring. I also love the clarinet and wanted to learn to play a melodic instrument the right way(tuba doesn't really play melodies) so I figured I'd learn the clarinet(I also play guitar but just improv no notes). This guy is also going to teach me in the near future after I get the basic basics down.
Enough said, can I ask you, how do you play the F thats on the first line of the staff. The book and sites say just the thumb but when I play it its unbelievably sharp. Am I playing everything else flat or is it wrong finger? I also tuned my C to the pianos Bb and all the other notes up to the F and the G after it sound okay. I think its more than just the thumb though because it sounds really off. If its not how do I fix it?
even if they were canadian

May I ask why you got an albert clarinet? It might be easier for a beginner to start on a boehm, since they are much more common in the united states. It doesn't matter though, since you're going to be getting lessons anyway. Albert is cool though. I wouldn't mind trying one at some point.
If you're talking about the F in the space at the bottom of the staff, it's thumb and middle finger. The other one is on this (http://www.wfg.woodwind.org/clarinet/ocl_bas_2.html) page. That's too many fingers to list. :p
