View Full Version : Rate how good my drumkit sounds!
I am playing a Yamaha Stage Custom with factory heads. I haven't tuned it for months and I recon I could get it to sound quite a bit better with the new batter skins I bought for it but yeah, rate how good you think the kit sounds.
Never mind what I'm actually playing haha. I know it's really messy and the timing's off. I was just messing around trying to record all the parts of my kit.

I'll include a poll to make it more interesting.

I listened to them the only suggestion is experiment with your bass drums tuning(I like bigger sounding bass drums). Other wise they sound great to me.

Yes. Putfile is good.
But the bass sound was terrible, the snare was okay, and the toms weren't really spectacular or anything. It wasn't technically bad, though.

Snare sounds awesome, and didn't like the bass. Gave it an 8

That beat was pretty cool.
I would tighten the snare, the bass was complete crap, and the toms sounded hollow (coming from a guitarist) (my guitarist said that) and your cymbals wer edecent.

I liked it. Toms sang nice IMO
EDIT: Oops I hit number 1.
Haha. The funny thing is when I'm playing without earplugs in my room the only part of the kit I actually like the sound of is the bass drum. My room's very high and boomy so it sounds really big already.
Also, I uploaded it on me and my friend's myspace player if anyone who can't download it wants to stream it. :thumb:

i voted for 5, because I've got some SCA's with brand new Emporers, and they sound beautiful. when you've got some spare cash, get some new heads and those toms will sing!

I really liked the snare.
Pretty flexible sound.
Would fit in most genre's of music, nice grooving too
Thanks guys! Hahahaha yeah you can hear me drop my stick in the end so I just kind of tried to finish it off with one hand.

Toms were good, tune your snare and your bass. It's a small bass, so make sure your batter is nice and loose and the resonate is a little bit tighter. Your snare I'd change a bit too I think. I don't really know what's wrong with it but I don't like it. Of course if you like how they all sound then keep em'! They're great drums, I swear by Yamahas and I don't even have one.
