In one word, ****, but I'll list them. Mind you it's about 3-4 years old.

Intel P4, 1800MHz, 2.4GHz
NVidia GeForce4 MX 420 64MB
512MB Ram
80GB HD
Some NEC monitor, 19'' I think.
Some speakers and sub
Logitech Wireless Keyboard/Mouse

Everything's basically what I got with it all those years ago, but I put in a DVD burner recently. Once I get a full time job, in like 3 1/2 years after I graduate I'll be investing in a new computer.

JohnXDoe
06-29-2006, 10:18 PM
Yeah. I bought it 2 years ago for $775. Came with 512mb of RAM and an FX5200. Dell sells the same unit today but with hyper-threading and speedier RAM for $500. No graphics card option though. AGP or PCI-E. But getting a pci-e model would most likely be just a small step up. When it first came out it was around $3100. How times change....and that is with just 512mb of RAM....

DJ Ducksauce
06-29-2006, 10:25 PM
Ah yeah, it's pretty sad that a stick of 256mb pc100 RAM at Staples is about $90+ still.

JohnXDoe
06-30-2006, 12:21 AM
Yeah. It's funny because the older RAM get's the more expensive it becomes. Because demand is lower, so the cost of making it for those who need it is higher. Makes sense, but I still think somewhere out there are warehouses full of the stuff that was made way back when.....you would think with it being so slim and cheap to make they would of stocked up...

Yeah, that's what they told us there. I found some 256 pc100 sticks at a computer store place for $50 or so, but it wouldn't work with my pc. :(

I have no idea why I'm posting this. I had brief access to a decent digital camera and thought WTF? Plus the thought of it made me lol...

This is my baby. Marvel at this pre-built, out of the box wonder. The Dell Dimension 4600. I have you know this beauty is the most powerful computer on the market....three and a half years ago. It's outfitted with an outdated 6600GT AGP, expansive 80 gig HD, 1.5 gigs of value RAM, and an ultra powerful p4 2.8a....

Yes, quite the rig. Hold your applause, please....

Haha yeah but they are useful for small word files and such, but I bought a USB stick recently so USB Stick >>>>> My Floppy

But I have run out of USB ports as the ones on the front caved in and the 2 at the back are used by my mouse and modem, I need one of those USB>PS2 adapter things to free up that USB, I have to take my modem out everytime I need to use it :(

Or... buy a USB extension port (the ones that you connect to a USB port and it has 4 others and stuff), they are dirt cheap.

Or buy a USB port and install it.

Yeah. The new ones have gone back to the "no tool" design and BTX (or is it BXT) cases and what not. Everything very modern. I'm not ready to upgrade yet, though.

Mine is kind of tight inside, although it may not look it. And if you look at the lower left hand corner of the case that is the HD inclosure. Which is fine except for the fact that the second HD bay is in front of it. Which means everything has to come apart and out to add another HD. Which is why I have an external :-\
