The hardcore section of Sputnik is a joke

There are 5 reviews of AFI albums on the front page, 3 of which are of the new album, none of which are hardcore. Those belong in the punk section.

There are 2 reviews for Envy on the front page, both of which belong in the section that specfically created for the purpose of giving bands like that a place for reviews. They belong in the emo section.

Rise Against are not a hardcore band. They belong in the punk section.

HORSE the Band are not a hardcore band. I don't care where you put them, as long as it's not hardcore.

Hot Water Music are not a hardcore band. Post hardcore, maybe.

Parkway Drive are not a hardcore band. Don't care.

August Burns Red are not a hardcore band. Metalcore.

Underminded are metalcore as well.

There are 21 AFI reviews in the hardcore section. There are zero Cro-Mags reviews.

Someone needs to clean that place up.

Yo, it's not about cleaning it up. I have tried to move HWM to punk 5 times and I don't know what idiot mod won't. AFI and Rise Against is also belonging to Punk but the mods won't move those either. However, those are only three bands. The key is for all of you to write more reviews to represent very underrepresented bands like the Cro-Mags. If you really care about that section being legit, which I doubt you do, write your own freakin' reviews.

Punk section is bad too. At least you get albums from hardcore on the top of your forum, punk gets stuff from punk, hardcore and pop-punk. One day a noob is going to come in and think it's okay to discuss those ****ty bands in punk and get all huffy when I close the thread.

I don't know if it's recently been changed, but the only reason AFI turns up in hardcore is because it's listed as a secondary genre for them. Arguable their first few albums could be called hardcore-punk to a point, but now they are definitely not anywhere near hardcore.

Haha. It matters because calling August Burns Red hardcore is completly ignoring 20+ years of music and history. And some of the bands are generic and do not belong in the section. There are sections for other genres too.
