The New Releases Discussion Thread

I thought this forum could use this, since a lot of people talk about new releases in other threads, and it usually doesn't strike up much conversation. So this thread will be dedicated to the discussion of new releases.

Basically every Sunday, I'll update it with a post containing all the new releases for that week, and you guys can talk about them, give your opinions, write short reviews maybe a paragraph long. Keep discussion centered on that week only please though, since (somewhere) there is a thread about upcoming albums of the year. I want this to be about each week's releases only. Also, if you got an album via an advance copy, streaming on the Internet, etc. Please wait until it's released to talk about it.

The whole re-issuing buisiness is really very annoying. TBS did it with Tell All Your Friends, FOB did it with From Under the Cork Tree and now MCS are doing. Why is it a pain? Because I don't want to have to buy the same CD twice for a few interviews and one more song!

I don't think this will work for very long. People won't stick to discussing about one weeks releases. It might aswell be the upcoming releases of the year thread.

Well the point of the thread is to talk about releases and not just anticipate ones which will come out later in the year.

I'm not realy interested in any of these releases. I've heard good stuff about Blackpool lights though.

Oh, and I agree about re-releases. Then again, I usually just download the extra tracks anyway. I remember The Early November re-release, and it didn't even have any bonus tracks. It just came with a sampler CD. Drive Thru Records ftl.

Anterrabae played a couple new songs last time I saw them. They sounded really good. I'll have to check out the new album at some point.

So, I just got Anterrabae's new album. It's less unique than their last album, but the breakdowns are huge and plentiful. Probably one of the only metalcore bands where you can hear the bass.

I'd recomend it for any fan of breakdowns. Which should be everybody. It's just a tad generic, though.

Anyway, I think I'm going to end up going to Cute Is What We Aim For's CD release show, to see Forgive Durden, Boys Like Girls, and All Time Low. I doubt I'll pick up Cute's CD, as I don't particularly like them, but it will be interestinmg to see if it turns out to be any good.

OK I have Cute's CD, and it's interesting. It most certainly is generic, and it's very poppy (What would you expect for a FBR band?), but it's kinda fun to listen to. There's some OK tracks on there if you forgot how much their personalities suck.
