Alright, so I want to sand down and repaint my SX bass. I don't know the model, but it's the pbass body with the p and j pick ups. Basically, my question is how do I go about getting the pickups out? Am I going to have to disconnect the wires from the pots and resolder after I'm done? Or is there another method? (highly unlikely, I'm guessing)

A few brands use quick-connectors, which would let you just unplug your pickups and plug them back in later - but odds are yes, you're going to have to unsolder and unscrew them.

You can buy solder pumps pretty cheaply, which'll let you do a much neater job of it.

If your bass had crazy big routing like mine then all you'd have to do was unscrew it, but im assuming the wires go through a small hole so the pickups wont fit.
