Price - £210, second hand, including delivery, with EMG 45DC Pickups Installed
Factory set-up: 9.5/10
Well Done Jamie, the bass was beautifully setup and after raising the E and A strings just a bit it was perfectly setup for me. The bass was in great condition for second hand and I was very happy.
Playability: 8/10
The neck is very flat which is great. It is lighter then my peavey fury IV but is slightly neck heavy but nothing major. Upper fret access is limited but I rarely venture into that area so again it isn't much of a problem. I have yet to use this bass in a band situation because it only arrived today but I was improvising around the neck and its nice to play
Electronics: 9/10
The pickups are EMG 45DCs. They look nice and seem to have been very professionally installed. I'm not an expert on electrical systems but everything I've seen appears to be very good. It uses 2 9v batteries which could be bad when they start running out. but otherwise, great
Tone: 9/10
I only play fingerstyle primarily so i can't comment on the slap or pick tone. The tone that I am using is very rich and i have instantly fallen in love with it. I can achieve several different tones ranging from a growl to a somewhat more punchy sound. I'll post sound clips when I can be bothered
Hardware: 9/10
Bridge lsn't amazing but it does the job and is very shiny. i may replace it eventually if i have some spare cash someday. the tuning machines are nice and shiny and kept the bass in tune despite its journey to my house from durham. the black knobs are ok but i may replace them with chrome if the mood strikes me.
Overall: 9/10
I really like this bass. Its my first 6er and i'm very impressed. I bought it because I didnt want to shell out on an expensive 6er only to find it wasn't for me. I'm totally loving my bass but it hasnt been mine for that long so i may update this review if i find any flaws. great tone, stunning looks(my second bass with quilted maple finish), I'll be entering competitions with this bass so listen out for it :thumb:
*my first review, of anything, ever*
