Hey, just a quick one. Does anyone have any suggestions for bass mags that I can get hold of for goodexcersises and lessons and so forth to improve my playing, + obv keeping up with any important goings on and such.

I read Bass Player. That's a pretty good megazine with decent lessons and songs to learn.

bassplayer is also starting http://www.bassplayer.tv which has videos on featured players that correspond to certain issues of the magazine. Flea will be on it as soon as it's up and running.

It's pretty hard to get hold of any round here, so I have a subscription to Bass Guitar Magazine (UK, not Guitar World's) which I think is great. No songs to learn, but plenty of other exercises and lessons. I'd personally recommend that over anything else.

i prefer Bass Player to Bass Guitar... ive had a subscription to Bass Player for like 2 years or so now... i just got my new one today :-D... featuring Tom peterson of Cheap Trick and his 12 string.

ive bought both magazines and i felt that bass player was the superior magazine

Compared to Justin Chancellor, Tony Levin, and Mike Gordon in the current issue of bass guitar (and their 13-page transcription of Heart Of The Sunrise)...
I never bought any magazines until bass guitar came out. Bass Player is mediocre, IMO.

i dont like buying bass magazine really, i'd rather look on the forums for information or to discuss recent events

Well yeah, to a certain degree, but my favorite thing about BG, the interviews, is something you definitely can't find here.
