Controversialist Ann Coulter will square off with controversialist during George Carlin NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Wednesday.

Carlin will discuss his role in "Cars," from Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios. The movie is currently the #1 at the box office. Coulter will talk about her latest controversial book "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," currently the #1 book at AMAZON.

Two of the angriest, most outspoken people on their sides. My god. Leno may actually be entertaining!

Both are pretty hardlined about their beliefs, and i disagree with them both about a lot. But at least Carlin, despite being a whackjob, makes some insightful and original points about the shallowness of modern society and its politics, where Coulter just steams about how LIE-BERALS are at fault for every damn thing to sell books. I predict that Ann Coulter will sputter and rage, while Carlin will quip his way out of the heavier stuff to further enrage her, and then nail on her on some other things.

That is, if they do argue. They may just seperately promote their own things, though i can see something breaking out if Coulter makes a comment about "my friend next to me here says (so and so) where i say...."

One way or another, i'm actually excited to watch Leno. Who'd have thought?

I doubt Ann Coulter could bring herself to sit beside someone and not argue with them. I'll have to arrange for this to be taped for me, as I'll be otherwise engaged on Wednesday. I hope I remember, as Carlin kicks ***.

I sincerely doubt they'll actually square off. The first guest probably won't even be onstage while the other one talks. And it's pre-taped, so if they actually do squabble they can always just edit it out and retape new segments.

edit: and this is the Tonight Show we're talking about, as mundane and safe as interview shows can get. They have certain topics that are off-limits, the star knows what questions they will be asked, and that's it. There are no bombshells and no hardhitting revelations or interesting discussion.

Coulter has stated that women are "not as bright" as men[31], "have no capacity to understand how money is earned"[32], and "shouldn't be in the military."[33].

On a few occasions Coulter has suggested that the constitutional amendment giving women the right to vote should be repealed. In a 14 February 2000 National Review Online article she wrote, "If this ticket doesn't close the gender gap, it's time to repeal the 19th Amendment."

In a February 2001 Politically Incorrect episode, Coulter argued that banning women from voting would ensure Republican presidents would be elected, and that "[women should] all have to give up their vote."

Yes she sounds like a person with very unique and practical ideas that certainly have the best interest of the country in mind.

I didn't know George Carlin at all, being french Canadian. So I wiki'ed him.

"I'm a modern man, a man for the millennium, digital and smoke-free, a diversified multi-cultural post-modern deconstructionist, politically, anatomically, and ecologically incorrect. I've been uplinked and downloaded, I've been inputed and outsourced, I know the upside of downsizing, I know the downside of upgrading. I'm a high-tech lowlife, a state-of-the-art bi-coastal multitasker, and I can give you a gigabyte in a nanosecond. I'm new wave, but I'm old school, and my inner child is outward bound. I'm a hot-wired, heat-seeking, warm-hearted cool customer, voice-activated and biodegradeble. I interface with my database, and my database is in cyberspace, so I'm interactive, I'm hyperactive, and from time to time, I'm radioactive. Behind the 8-ball, ahead of the curve, riding the wave, dodging the bullet, pushing the envelope. I'm on point, on task, on message, and off drugs. I got no need for coke and speed. I have no urge to binge and purge. I'm in the moment, on the edge, over the top, but under the radar. A high-concept, low-profile, medium-range ballistics missionary. A street-wise smart bomb, a top-gun bottom-feeder. I wear power ties, I tell power lies, I take power naps, I run victory laps. I'm a totally ongoing bigfoot slamdunk rainmaker with a proactive outreach. A raging workaholic, a working rageaholic, out of rehab and in denial. I got a personal trainer, a personal shopper, a personal assistant, and a personal agenda. You can't shut me up, you can't dumb me down, 'cause I'm tireless, and I'm wireless. I'm an alphamale on beta blockers. I'm a non-believer and an overachiever, laid back, but fashion forward, up front, down home, low rent, high maintenance; super size, long lasting, high definition, fast acting, oven ready, and built to last. I'm a hands-on, footloose, kneejerk headcase, prematurly post-traumatic, and I have a love child who sends me hate mail. But I'm feeling, I'm caring, I'm healing, I'm sharing, a supportive, bonding, nurturing, primary caregiver. My output is down, but my income is up. I take a short position on a long bond, and my revenue stream has its own cash flow. I read junk mail, I eat junk food, I buy junk bonds, I watch trash sports. I'm gender specific, capital intensive, user friendly, and lactose intolerant. I like rough sex, I like tough love, I use the F-word in my e-mails, and the software on my hard drive is hardcore, no soft pr0n. I bought a microwave at a minimall, I bought a minivan at a megastore, I eat fast food in the slow lane. I'm tollfree, bite size, ready to wear, and I come in all sizes. A fully equipped, factory authorized, hospital tested, clinically proven, scientifically formulated medical miracle. I've been prewashed, precooked, preheated, prescreened, preapproved, postdated, freeze dried, double wrapped, vacuum packed, and I have an unlimited broadband capacity. I'm a rude dude, but I'm the real deal, lean and mean, cocked, locked, and ready to rock; rough, tough, and hard to bluff. I take it slow, I go with the flow, I ride with the tide, I got glide in my stride. Drivin' and movin', sailin' and spinin', jivin' and groovin', wailin' and winnin'. I don't snooze, so I don't lose. I keep the pedal to the metal and the rubber on the road. I party hardy, and lunch time is crunch time. I'm hangin' in, there ain't no doubt, and I'm hangin' tough, over and out." -George Carlin: Life is Worth Losing (2005) and When Will Jesus Bring the Porkchops

Its not the republicans, its the social-religious conservatives that love her.

her new book is number one on the NYT best seller list.

The funny thing about Ann is she claims to be a christian, and calls others Godless, however she continually judges and name-calls everyone not on her side and breaks Jesus' one commandment; to love god with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus had no political persuasion, yet religious conservatives continue to try to turn America into the Christian Country, even though the bible says 'god is no respector of persons or nations'.

Fact: George Carlin is hilarious.
Fact: Ann Coulter is a crazy, evil, psycho Nazi bitch from hell whom I'd love to see pwned in an argument.

I think the best way to pwn a woman like that in an argument is to work up so much laughter at what she says that you start crying on national television.

I don't know if things like "logic" and "fact" can do that by themselves. She's a big fan of throwing out unsubstantiated outrages in the middle of rebuttals, which has the effect of making anybody who takes her seriously sputter with outrage too much to come back with any semblance of wit.

I wonder, though, if she does believe that the things she says are true. I don't, however, think that she's just being satirical. I think that she simply cares less than many liberals do that she can't prove that what she thinks is true, and says every outrageous thing that pops into her head because it gets her the attention and the bucks. For every person that has thought something politically incorrect and hasn't mentioned it out of a quick return to the sense of social conduct in this world, Coulter will say it twice.

just implying that people are liking what she is doing, as a response to the poster i quoted.

That might sound a little bit like "Elie Wiesel won the Pulitzer because the people who awarded it liked what the Holocaust did" to me. I find that polemics attract so much attention because people who don't care what the polemic says are curious about the hubbub that surrounds him/her, and those who don't like what she says can't stop shaking with anger long enough to forget about it and move on. I think the people who "like" what Coulter does make up a small portion of those who actually buy her books.

Why do you think most of these people appear on these and other shows?
To actually make a contribution? It's just an elaborate hustle.
Remember those "generals" that grouped together bashing the war?
2 of them had just recently wrote a book. One was attempting a future office position.
Actor's/Actress's are the same. When a movie is premiering, there they are.
When they aren't working on a project, "get away from me paparazzi".
That's all they are ever after, as soon as attention dies out, they do some PR Stunt to get their name's back out there.

Most comics repeat their most popular routines when it's a big show, like national telly, so it's not that good. They're at their best when they're on stage in a club in front of small audiences, because then there's more audience participation and therefore more room and opportunity for impro, which is really what makes stand-up comedy funny.

No, not really. Have you even read any of Slander?

Just do a Google search for "Ann Coulter lies" and that should hold you up for a good month of reading material.

I'm not sure how you can even post that with a straight face given the undeniably large amount of lies and out-of-context distortions Coulter uses to get her bias across.

Have you even read those?

Many are trivial technicalities, and there are many that are just responses, too.

Michael Moore blatently lies and deceives people with his films. She misrepresents ideas all the time (aka, builds strawmen), which is about the same thing, really. Just listen to the radio interview I posted. It's rife with generalisations and inflammatory rhetoric. So when you say that Moore misleads people with his films, I'm inclined to say that Coulter does the same thing with her books. They might not use the same tactics, but I think they're both doing more harm to their respective parties/ideologies or whatever than good.

Uh, no they're not trivial, most of them are blatantly out-of-context references to an article or quote that have no relevance to the topic at hand. A lot of them are quotes of quotes and aren't even mentioned as such. Others are simply outright lies.

Here's an example:
7. SLANDER. Jim Jeffords always votes for higher taxes. FACT. Jeffords voted "nay" on Clinton's 1993 tax hike, and "yea" on Bush II's tax cut. TAP. COMMENT. In fact, he postponed his departure from the GOP so the tax cut would go through.
Lie. No way around it.

"I don't think I am trying to attract people. If I wanted to attract people, I would wear sexy dresses, grow my hair long..."

Ann Coulter when she said this on Leno. Yeah, real ****ing conservative of you Ann, you are the model of not being a hypocrite.

I swear to God, if Bill Hicks was there, those sons of bitches would be sucking on the Big Black Pecker like their popular culture careers depended upon it.

I don't really think George Carline's stand-up is funny anymore. Then again, I've never been a huge fan of his past stand-up specials either. Just not my sense of humor I guess.

Coulter got help from William Dembski with her latest book, which further reduces her credibility.

Ann Coulter stated that apartheid was good in South Africa because of the somewhat-socialist Nelson Mandela and ANC because socialism = barbarism.

She also stated that if elected Allende was kept in power in Chile then there would have been an attack in the US worse than 9/11.

Clever woman. Should become a science-fiction writer.
