Synth Problem

I recently bought a Novation Bass Station and a new Crate 15w amp. My problem is that every time I take my finger off of a key, it continues to make noise through my amp. It's not something that gradually fades away, it just keeps going. I've tried lowering the frequency and resonance but then I just lose my effect completely. I'm pretty sure it's not the synth itself as it does ithe same thing with my other one. I'm new to synths and I've just been feeling my way through so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm, it sounds to me like maybe you have a release time setting turned all the way up. Is there any kind of knob or setting that effects release time?

Yes, there is but I have it turned down all the way.

Do you know about synth envelopes, it will be the release (and partly the sustain) of the envelope that is doing it, too much. Some effects sound really good like that.
