Title says it all. Fill out the poll to chose the genre for Underoath
If you wonder what this is about, have a look here (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/muse.php?museid=916). ANd don't post stuff like "They file good under suck". That does not contribute or bring this forward in any sense. Chose one of the listed genres, and tell us why please.
Poll's open for 5 days. Vote away! :thumb:

Make sure to explain your choice too.

I've heard thier latest offering, which I believe is titled They're Only Chasing Safety, and they seemed more pop-rock to me than anything.

They sound like Hawthorne Heights with some hardcore influences. TOCS and the new album lead me to classify them as a slightly dark and hard edged pop punk band.

They don't quite seem to be just at the Post Hardcore level yet, but everyone needs to keep in mind their new album coming out on the 20th, which is supposed to be alot more hardcore. I've heard some of the new tracks, and it's definetly post hardcore IMO.

I'd actually just put them under punk and be done with it, otherwise post-hardcore seems the most fitting genre to me.

I agree with SOP, except that pop-punk seems more fitting and stuff to me.

I've not heard this band before, but obviously this is serious business. So I sampled them from my music service. 3 albums sampled in all. And going in completely cold and with no preconceived notions I can safely tell you this is a ..........Post Hardcore band. And a fairly standard one, at that.....

Post-hardcore. They may be more "pop" than some of the other bands in that genre, but I think it definately fits.

I say pop-punk. It's just what it sounds like to me. I mean, besides crap.

Post hardcore for me. They dont sound fully hardcore, yet not pop punk or pop rock...

I went with mainstream rock, thinking it was HIM by accident. Either way, that, or post-harcore could do I suppose.

I'd go with just punk, but that's not an option. :-\ I don't want to go with post-hardcore at all, but I don't see a better choice. Too bad there isn't an option for just punk *hint, hint, add, add*

Yeah, too bad their music isn't really "punk" in any way.

Two reasons I don't want to add Punk as a choice:
a) They don't really fit in there
b) There are certain people that would call for us to be demodded when such a step would happen, and I'm not really keen to see that whole discussion happen.
The listed genres will have to do

Why isn't their a "suck" genre for people like me to choose? :p
That said, I'd say they're closest to post-hardcore. I'm not going to vote, though.

Can I ask why we're getting 5 days to vote on this? Most of the forum regulars will have and gone bytonight/tomorrow, so unless you plan on making some sort of announcement about this, it's pretty much assured poast-hardcore will be there new home.

It basically emerged from this one muse that spawned today, and I want to provide people that just stumble over it now or in the following days to vote as well. It's just to set a fix time when it will close, so everybody knows what's up
They're most definitely post hardcore.
