A new idea

So I just came up with a possible idea, and I'd like to know what all of you think about it...

So my idea is basically called "Genre of the week", where we feature a new genre each week (duh.) and then some of the best albums in that genre are put on the homepage for everyone to see. I think this would be a good idea because it gives people who are looking into a new genre something to possibly check out.

Well, what say you?

Unless Steve decides to incorporate this idea in the newsletter, I doubt it will happen. Like Med says, the front page is already quite full and genres aren't too hard to find anyway.

Wouldn't we run out of genres rather fast? I haven't counted or anything, but we don't have a huge number of genres on the site, and some of those that do exist don't have many bands in. Not to mention the fact that the frontpage already has a lot of material on at the moment, and in order to put anything like this on we'd have to take something off. If people want to get into a new genre they can already look at the top rated albums within that genre and just browse through the album listings for that genre.Yeah, I don't like how the musing/articles has been bumped to the bottom. As a result of that, less of those have been made. I really enjoyed reading those too. A way to solve that problem would be to make a layout that is 1024x768 friendly? So we could fit that along side or maybe take something out, I don't know.
