Just like every other similiar story, I was playing my drums today, same as always, when I noticed a crack in my 18" AAXplosion crash   :upset:
I've had it since March 2004, and no damage had been caused up to now. My technique has stayed the same since I stopped taking lessons, and my drum teacher said it was good then. I'm thinking it's maybe the new sticks I picked up, Zildjian Adrian Young sticks. The cymbal has red marks all over the edges, and the crack (19mm in length) comes from the top edge of the cymbal.
I'm just disapointed and if I can't control the crack replacing it will be a detour in my already long list of drum gear to buy.
Edit: I'll try some careful drilling tonight and see how it goes!

Do you need a hug?
If you liked the AAXplosion and want something that sounds like it then I would advise against K customs, theyre too dry compared to AAX IMO

I'm not necessarily trying to match something to it, of course HHX/HH/K/K Custom cymbals are going to be darker...

I just drilled the cymbal and played it a little. Hopefully it'll hold out for a while so I can make some purchases before finally replacing it!

Haha  Thanks.
It should be fine, it's too bad that happened though... On the bright side I'll have an extra cymbal once it's replaced.

what penis? lol...
Well i dunno..there might be...but doubtful...cause i thought about it...why would any insurance company want to insure something that you hit hard and repeatedly with a wooden (or Alluminum) stick? But hey! When i'm rich and famous i'll start and Drum Insurance Inc. so that you all can buy **** you want and if you break it on accident we'll replace it immiedetly.

Well put it this way, when I go into the store to look for a new crash, I'll be trying every crash in there, so if it's there and I like it, I'll pick it up. I won't be buying a replacement crash in a while anyways, as long as my drilling holds up.

Haha don't worry NCDrummer I appreciate your post!
Anyway, on a darker note, it's always a drummer's worst nightmare to find a crack. I know it's happened to me more than once, and each time it doesn't get any easier...
