For those who have previous experience with Fruity Loops Studio 5, you may have heard a song called "My Body". I quite like it, so I decided to try playing along to it.
Time is rough in some parts, but please critique anyway.. :smash:

Sounds pretty good, nice and in-the-pocket.
I like the bass drum sound, what heads are you using, and what did you record it with?

The bass head is a pinstripe. Not much muffling. I recorded it with 3 microphones into a mini-mixer (no effects) and then ran all that through Cool Edit Pro 2.0.
Glad you like it! :)
One question, are the drums too quiet? I just realised that I can barely hear them at the end..
EDIT: I just bumped the mix up by 5 decibels.

Sounds good, goes nicely with the music, but i don't think the drums are too loud, they're acually nicely in place. I like the re-mix.

No, not as I recall. If I did, it was an accident, but I don't think it's sped up.

Yeah listening again I think the change in drums makes it sound faster.

So have you been writing stuff in the program as well? Or just playing around with the songs that came with?
Jezen

Abit of both. I would most like to write my own pieces and put acoustic drums to those.

If it's alright to make a comment on myself, I am really proud of my cymbals. The crashes sound great IMO, and they haven't been mic'ed with condensors or anything. I'm using that 3-mic-drum-technique. The only reason for this, is I only have 3 microphones.

Always nice to hear this kind of creativity.
Cheers.

Thanks alot guys :D
Yeah I still love this program. It has so many cool songs already on it, and hundreds of preset loops to make your own music and loads of sounds and the ability to create your own loops and melodies ect ect..

BB sorry to be a pain in the arse but could you also mail it to me? I really liked that and I want to try to build on what you did using hi-hat accents and things.
Nice playing, and I agree, your cymbals sound excellent.

Ah quality, thanks for that! Have you tried any drum 'n bass orientated tracks? Jojo Mayer has had me in the mood recently.
EDIT: Weyhey, tis the devil's post..

Yeah I would definately like to do some drum n bass stuff. Drum n bass was what I wanted to do originally, but I don't think my timing is tight enough yet to handle something like that.

Heh yeah I'm only just beginning to get to grips with it. Trying to keep straight quarters on the hats whilst powering ahead with the snare and bass is pretty tricky!
I've got a slick D&B track with Jojo on drums by some guy called Simon V, if you want it. Just a classic and impossible track.
