This article explains things a little more clearly - RFID tags are already extensively, every time you walk throgh an anti-theft beepy thingy in a shop door - that's a RFID scanner. RFID chips are far more expensive than barcodes, and offer few serious advantages to businesses when used on every product. So they can link individual can's of coke to you and figure out exactlay what you buy - "joe blogs bought can of coke 7654321" - big whoop!

they are already being used to spy on people.
This is a lie.
They "could", be used to spy on people.
They are used as anti-shoplifting measures, if that consitutes spying.
However, it is not healthy technology and it should be illegal.

They already have a few limited places where you can get a chip implanted &
use it to buy goods, just a swipe of the arm, BOOM, just like a check card. I
coulnd't find the actual show I saw it on, but they are out there already.
Pretty neat, but I wouldn't do it.

You see this is exactly why I wear my tin foil hat at all times.
we and our children would be continually bombarded with electromagnetic energy
When, during daylight, are you not bombarded with electromagnetic energy?

you guys have to at least be open to the possibility that these RFID chips could be used in human beings for specific purposes such as tracking people.
That's why I'm heavily opposed to it in any form of human use. I did briefly read an article on RFID in National Geographic (I think it was that), where they talked about how you could find out about the opposite sex for dating them, and stuff, and they bearly touched on the "1984" aspect of it, but there is still a danger to it, whether we believe it or not.

i see what you're talking about, i wouldn't be as worried of that right now but it is worth keeping an eye. And the whole "spying" aspect of it is something that could be done and easily kept secret too. Once you had one implanted, they could tell everywhere that you are by simply having RFID scanners all over the place, which, if they were being used for spying then the scanners would have to be concealed so we would never know (and i don't think it'd be that difficult to hide them, especially if hte general public is ignorant to their existence)
