METALLICA premiered a brand new song during their headlining appearance Tuesday (June 6) at Waldbuhne in Berlin, Germany. According to several fans that attended the gig, the as-yet-untitled track is about eight minutes long with a "killer main riff" and "lots of double-bass parts."

sounds intriguing, still looking for some video or something

Heh..All in all I think they are too old but this goes into the metallica thread.
I just think they will try to go back to their glory days and fail..

His not a ****ty drummer just not spectacular. If it wasn't for napster (which does indeed make him a giant bag of douche) no one would be ragging on him for his drumming, they wouldn't be praising it or anything, but they wouldn't be putting him down constantly.

THere are much worse drummers out there, I mean come on you telling me Meg White doesn't diserve beratment and a makeover for that matter.

mMm...even without napster, people would still rag on him. there's no denying he's not the greatest drummer around (yes meg white is MUCH much worse), and add that to the fact that he's the drummer for METALLICA. there's a lotta love and there's a LOT of hate for 'em on these forums cuz well. elitism gets to us all at one point, eh? ;)

People don't rag on him because of Napster, or because of Metallica. They rag on him because he's a crap drummer. He can barely keep time.

you can't deny that some people hate him because they jump on the bandwagon.

i've watched enough of their videos to conclude for myself that lars can't keep time; he rushes like crazy. or maybe that's what he MEANS to do

It's funny how he can't even fulfill the main purpose he's in Metallica for.

lars fan or not the song sounds interesting at least

i just wish audio would surface somewhere, it has to exist this day in age
the new trivium song was online within a couple hours

in my heart i'm hoping this album will destroy all and shut a lot of people up but thats just me, whether it will do that or not we shall see

i feel they still have some good tunes left in them, they got st anger out of their system, went back to the old ways of writing, fresh minds in ways of rick rubin and rob trujillo

i really think its gonna be worth watching but only time will tell and i do hope it is good, if they put out an amazing album toured behind it a couple years and ended it that would be fine by me

another thing that was pointed out by somebody on blabbermouth was this song was stuck in between "wherever i may roam" and "the unforgiven" which lead into the whole master of puppets album on the setlist
this suggests they didn't tune down because it wouldn't make sense to switch guitars for one song then switch back

so standard a tuning metallica song with heavy riffage?...good times

I doubt any song they make will make me a fan. Nothing they've made in the past has impressed me, unlikely this will either.
