Hey all,

Im modding out my old P bass and at the stage of buying a bridge. What would everyone reccomend, a Bad *** II or Gotoh delux 4 string bridge?

Cheers,
Scott.

Depends on if you want to file the slots for your strings or not.
I had a Gotoh on my Fernandes and I was a bit zealous about having it perfectly intonated and I couldn't do it with that bridge so I swapped it out for a Hipshot style A.

In all honesty, I think it comes down to looks.
With me I think BAII goes hand in hand with Fender.

By the way, could you repost the pics of your smashed up Toyota?

That's what I get for reading the casual, when I am not awake yet. :X
Sorry for the mix up, I knew the badging looked too different.
But you have a Celica right, AZ? :p
Please let me have some semblance of sanity.

Yeah, I must have been really out of it. :\
Anyway, I saw the emblem and was thinking it was so cool, I might have to put one somewhere on my Yota, but now that I know I was mistaken... no point. ;)

It reminded me of a family/royal crest and I have a thing for antiquated European designs.

i think you have to file badass bridges by yourself, which can be either really hard for some people or really easy . . . i would reccomend a this gotoh 206 bridge from warmoth, which is fully adjustable, and has lots of mass for stability and resonance . . .

Haha, VL's for the win. Trust me to be in a smash the day i get new rims.

Yeah you need to file out the saddles on the Bad ***, someone has actually posted a tutorial thing on here how to do it.

i really like my baII. huge step up from the stock fender bridges IMO

Is there much difference quality and tone wise between the two?

quality wise, definitely, but tone wise, not so much. srtting the intonation is a snap, it looks cooler, the weight surely does add a little sustain, but a very minimal amount.

i just found it to be very easy to set up and it's pretty solid.

Did you file the saddle yourself? Easy/hard?

I have this bridge on my custom jazz bass. While I like its adjustability, and quality construction, I do not like the way that the allen keys for saddle height adjustment stick up so far. When you anchor your hand at the bridge they tend to dig into your hand a bit. Its pretty uncomfortable.

I'm not a fan of Leo Quann Badass bridges at all. My current favorite bridge is the Hipshot Model A :thumb:

Get a Badass III. They compliment fenders so well.

Reminds me of the Peugeot sign.

Anyway, I'd go Gotoh. I don't like Badass bridges.
