Congratulations to MetalOz for his victory, and well done to the runners-up.

As you can see from the standard deviations, we had a pretty diverse panel of judges - some were quite ornery, while others graded softly.

Thanks again to all who submitted entries, and whenever Oz makes the new topic, be ready to start recording for the next topic (whatever that may be - it's a secret!).

---------------

I'll be posting a new Competition thread either later today or tomorrow. I'd like to get more participants so suggestions for the new topic/genre are welcome :chug:

Yeah, nice song dude. Listening now.

Thor's was good too, if only it had vocals, I think they seem to push songs over the edge.

ATC's dosn't deserve to be that low, the singing is the best of the competition so far.

What can you expect from a guitar driven forum though.. *sigh*

What? ATC's song was the best.

Good job OZ, although i must agree with Atc's voice being the best.

Good to see you received my e-mail. Sorry about all the coding issues - the chart would look a hell of a lot nicer if images were allowed here, but it's all good so long as those lines help separate.

Thanks again and congrats.

JamJar

I personally think that there is no need for another cover competition but it's upto MetalOz to decide.

I would love for the chance to have a cover comp......

Why? So you can plague us with another bad impression of Staind.

haha. Just having fun.

it'd be good and bad.

I'd soooo cover Green Day though.

It'd be better not to joke around like that.

Sorry for not finishing up my voting, I kind of forgot about it, plus it sucked when after writing my thoughts for over a half hour, MX screwed it up somehow

Congrats Oz. Your song was one of the best, good to see it getting recognized.

Somehow, yea, I believe ATC's song was unbelievable. Why others didn't I don't know...shows how openminded people are.

We don't need another cover comp, we already had two. I think we should do doom metal.

JamJar

I second the Doom metal. That would be quite awesome.

Crysiss

No, Doom Metal.

Invicta_Veritas

Doom.....YES! That would fit perfectly into where my music is going anyway........

I'd prefer a theme, like this last competition, that way anyone can enter with any genre. I'm hoping to write a song this time anyway, I couldn't think of anything this month and had exams in the way, but hopefully I'll be able to come up with something this time.

Invicta_Veritas

Maybe a theme expressing your opinion on something......I dunno....like a song portraying your overall political or moral viewpoints or something like that......

'
It would make people use thier heads and really think this one through.

MetalOz

I dunno about the theme thing. The last one no one really did the theme the way Rounder had wanted it. My song certainly wasn't about my whole life it was just a 'relationship' song...

Mine was, to an extent.

I'm thinking just general heavy metal. That might have a bunch of people.

Bazarov

Blackened Thrash?

Or maybe hard rock disco like that one Kiss song.
"You were made for loving me baby"

You guys know the song I'm talking about.

Congratulations Metaloz.

I'd be up for doom metal as well. Or maybe power metal?

Anyhow, congratulations Oz.

Invicta_Veritas
06-04-2006, 12:50 AM
NONO, no power metal.......

Doom Metal ftw.

pate
06-04-2006, 12:59 AM
Yes yes, yes power metal.

Or I'll pull out some doom with Candlemass-style vocals for ya. Lawl.

ATC

Congrats, Oz.

I'd rather the next competition be thematic than genre-specific. I'm sure that those that want to write within a sub-genre can work their song into the theme anyways. Personally, judging a solely doom-metal or thrash or whatever metal competition would be very monotonous. By having the theme by misanthropy, you can have the entries lean towards black metal or epic sadness and have it lean towards doom etc.

Apocalyptic Raids

I think themed ones are better.

Oh, and to all the people that liked the vocals in my song, the vocals aren't me. It's my friend Dom who has an amazing voice and his own band, the Painted Birds. Feel free to check them out.
