Looking for real good acoustic songs for guitar. Stuff with lots of chords or arppegios. Things like Metallicas Nothing Else Matters, or Dream Theater Silent Man.

Nightmare by the MSG is a good one.
You could also adapt Savatage's ballad Believe to acoustic easily. Hell, they themselves already did it.
Out of curiosity, why do you ask?

Hmm... I'm not sure, but a lovely acoustic ditty is "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp" by Led Zeppelin.

Very beautiful indeed. In fact, it has two different acoustic lines played at the same time.

From the begining- Emerason, Lake, and Palmer. GREAT acoustic song even if it is not 100% acoustic because of a little keyboard solo thing at the end.

I think you're looking for something like Benighted by Opeth.
I don't know why people are saying Damnation.
Death Whispered a Lullaby: Basically the same acoustic riff repeatedly.
Closure: The intro is fun to play, but acoustics only last until that time, which is about 1:00.
Ending Credits: The rythm is fun to play, yet it's repetative.
The rest of the album (guitar-wise) is done with electric guitars/clean tone.

Any thing off Damnation by Opeth.
I think he meant acoustic as in an acoustic guitar rather than clean electric guitar. Damnation has only a few songs with acoustic guitar.
^Flynn named them.

The intro acoustics rock though. That intro is probably one of the most depressing, yet most uplifting and beautiful songwriting I've ever heard. DeFarfalla had great flow with bass as well to match the beautiful guitars.

Two bands... Alice in Chains and Opeth.
The unplugged version of Nutshell is great on acoustic.
Closure by Opeth is always a great acoustic song to listen to. It's got a few complicated parts in it, too.

I agree
I disagree. I wouldn't say Damnation is a good representation of what Opeth can do with acoustics. In fact I find the album overated and dull. I rarely listen to it. The acoustics that are interwoven in Opeth's heavy material (Leper Affinity, The Moor, BRI to name a few) blow anything on Damnation away. That said "Windowpane" and "Hope Leaves" are two very good songs. Closure is 1000 times better live.
