hawthorne heights. emo, pop-punk...?

I use to be a fan of hawthorne heights. Now I think they are bland and boring. They sound the same in every song they've ever made except for Decembers and Ohio Is For Lovers(which IMO are the best 2 songs they'll ever make). So i want to try and decide (with you guy's help) a genre for these guys, ecause everyone argues about them being emo and screamo and pop-punk. IMO they are pop-punk, but what do you guys think?

Who cares what genre they are? I like Hawthorne Heights but they are awful musicians and they don't write very good music. Ohio Is For Lovers is not one of the best songs they have ever written IMO. I don't really know why I like them, they are catchy.

Why they have 3 guitarists, I will never know. If you want some good triple guitar music, listen to The Receiving End Of Sirens.

The problem HH have is that they are boring. If they put some effort into making some original songs, then they would be really good to listen to. They are generic, and I can accept that, but it's not good generic music. I actually don't mind their latest album, which is a vast improvement on their first.

i agree. They are bland, and boring, but arent bad. I do find them catchy, though. They just need a few (critical) adjustments (no screaming/ orbetter screamer, 1 guitar/or better guitar parts, differ their style of music, no voice distortion)

Soooo... singer=suck, guitars=suck, no variation, and they use modifiers to make themselves sound better(and they still sound bad). Why does anyone listen to these guys?

HH are a horrible, horrible, horrible band. Their screamer is awful, their music is bad (catchy =/= good), they're boring, their lyrics are awful, their singer is hideous, they have nothing cool about them, and I overall hate them and can't express my distaste for them.

The worst thing is when someone asks me what kind of music I'm into. I say, "emo and hardcore" and they IMMEDIATELY say, "Oh, like Hawthorne Heights?" or a band of equal merit (or lack thereof). It's the worst thing in the world to have to explain "No, that's not emo, I mean real emo" and proceed to list bands they've never heard of and just assume I listen to My Chemical Romance. ARGH! It's exasperating, really. :evil: Thanks, you idiots in HH and every other band similar to them...thanks a lot.
