Hello. I am doing a paper on extreme metal, and I am in great need of articles preaching about death metal being dangerous to kids, and it corrupts your mind or whatever. It can be as full of bull**** as you like, it just has to be a real article. I've tried googling around, but I haven't found anything fitting my purpose.

Any help would be extremely appreciated, and you'd make me feel all warm inside. :)

I'm assuming you're going to mention the PMRC? Not all death metal, but metal in general.

Just google any extreme Christian websites, and see what they have to say.

Also, I remember there being something a few months back about an Italian death metal band that was convicted of ritualistic murdering, and so of course that started the "metal is evil" thing again, so try googling that in various forms......

I don't have much else that I can give you though...

Just look for the Judas Priest suicide scandals (not extreme metal, but whatever), anything to do with Cannibal Corpse and maybe Slipknot, I remember hearing some **** about them.

Depends on whether or not you live in a Norwegian area. Take their Death Metal seriously, those folks.

The PMRC, Tipper Gore, etc. You need to look that up, they really had a problem with metal.

Well, thats what I did. But nothing really came up, except some fake sites and Joe Lieberman mentioning Cannibal Corpse in some context.

You should watch this, it might not help you, but it gives you an idea of how musicians were being treated because of "controversy"

It might be easier to do metal in general. Death metal is so unknown to most people. They probably couldn't even cite a real Death band if they needed to.

True.

Bowling For Columbine, or what's the name of the movie about the shooting at this high school?
It has an interview of Marilyn Manson being interviewed because people thought he was indirectly guilty for the killings.
the guy who shot the people listened to MM and thus MM was evil.
Not that MM is extreme metal, but atleast it's something

also: A while back the vatican stated that Black Sabbath and I believe even LedZep were satanic and were trying to get more followers for the blasphemous lust and evil they present in their lyrics
the Vatican...always awesome for a good laugh!

And some Finnish priest or something told people not to listen to Lordi because they proclaimed Satanic propaganda :p

Not articles, but try and google this stuff, it might give you some sites.
The killing of Euronymous is written about in numerous articles, as well as the church burnngs and maybe something about Gaahl torturing some man and performing 'satanic' practices on him.

That should get you somewhere.

I suggest you download a documentary called "Metal - A Headbanger's Journey" - it should be available on Mininova (Bit Torrent site).

It was created by a metalhead anthropologist who was focussing on how metal has always been socially condemned. It's rather interesting, and while it might not be exactly what you're after, it could help.
