13' K/Z Hi hats

Just wanted to get a better idea of what these sound like...Anyone used them before? Versatility etc etc?

Reason being I just bought them of an auction. Unsure of how old but its still got the old Z custom hammer pattern(one with the stars). I havent got them yet as I worked out a payment arrangement with the seller.

Ive herd great things about them(Morgan Rose playing with the 14' version on Sevendust's NEXT), and that you can swap the sides over depending on what kinda music you play

once you get used to them they can have a really nice sound. Recording the 13" I found hard, you can get a very metallicy ring. might be down to experience and mic technique though.

I use them, There Great hats. 13" is the best size, the 14"'s just don't cut it imo.

13" has got such a lovely click sound with the foot.

I own the 13" version, although mine arn't as old as your's because I have the newer Z on the bottom. They take awhile to get broken in, but once they open up, they sound incredible. Very articulate hats, at least IMO, that also sound really thick played open. Good stuff :thumb:
