Crappy clip of it in action, the amp i'm using really doesn't do it justice, and neither does my rushed playing, but whatever.

I will be playing fives for life methinks. The only four I have was my first bass, I wouldn't consider buying another four.

So you played a Pedulla with crap action? I guess that makes every pedulla ever made a bass with **** action? The action on mine is extremely low, and yet no sign of fretbuzz whatsoever.

Good idea, no point starting an argument. I just get pissed pretty quickly, but I am ready to leave this.

You like your Kubicki, I like my pedulla. We shall leave it at that.

Jamie
06-01-2006, 04:54 PM
Ledzep: You can't really judge his bass from just playing one Pedulla! That'd just be silly :) It's like your Kubicki might be amazing but every other kubicki might be crap. You can't know from just playing one

Everyone else who was involved: I bet none of you have ever played a kubicki! You might just fall in love with one if you played one.. I know you's just used kubicki as a kind of low blow (because everyone uses it against Chris_K now for some reason  )

Anyway, gorgeous bass! :D I'm dead impressed!

Because Chris doesnt pander to other users, Ive seen the exact same thing in the guitar forum. For example, everyone in there drools over Jems, but as soon as someone with a Jem says he doesnt like someones LP, or he doesnt think so and so is a good guitarist, everyone is "omfg go play your Jem with its tacky gold hardware and lolly pop stick neck lol"

Personally I prefer the looks of the 6 sting (hexabuzz).

Chris K
06-02-2006, 06:53 AM
Yeah, the Hexabuzz does look cool. I played a fretless pentabuzz, and the tone was amazing. So much growl and yet so clear and defined, with a glassy high end (it was running through an EA rig, sounded ace). I'm inclined to think the bass had a lot to do with the tone, because when I plugged the guys fretted Specter Euro 5 string in, it sounded a bit dungy.

Chris: Where'd you play a pedulla?

At work, a band were setting up to play an evening show for a Wedding Buffet. Me and Dave were sitting around, and I heard the bassist busting out some Stanley Clarke licks so we got talking and he offered me a go on his gear! Canny bloke, and a great player. However, it was a Pentabuzz that I played, red/orange over flamed maple with a lined neck. If I had a couple of grand spare I'd own one....but just a Buzz, 4 strings ftw!

EDIT: I have work too, starting at 7. Unlucky Dave has already went, started at 4 today. And Ronald tells me you're both now collegues in the McDonald's franchise!

AlmightyPancake

I'm more of a fan of the Thunderbass models.

(Sorry for the horribly small picture)

I want to try a 'buzz out. I hear nothing but rave reviews, so it's a real pity they're hideous...

Niiiiice bass. Very pretty clip.

I played a fretless 4 pentabuzz once, and ended up being escorted out of GC for not putting it down.
A 4-string pentabuzz? Did it have a broken string?

(penta = 5)

Cant agree more - everyone says they sound awesome, but I just cant get over how utterly hideous they look

The 'buzz models really don't look at all appealing to me, i'm yet to try one out, but based on looks I am really not a fan.

The Lakland is also no longer for sale.

I'd bet you money you'll change your opinion once you've played one. The way it felt and sounded actually changed my opinion on the looks-I love them now!

I think they look pretty good, just would be nice with a twenty four fret neck.
