looks like you have to jump to reach most of your cymbals, but I bet it's in relation to you. Good looking kit also.

Innovation 22" Wild Ride....

JUST, seconds ago, placed a bid for an 18" Paragon Crash to replace the B8. The second crash I have now is a Paragon 16".

I love the PAISTE....But I may be upgrading to the Paragon if anyone is interested in buying the PAISTE. It isn't even a year old...

Thanks

How do those studio x's sound on the toms? I'm looking for a happy medium between performance 2's and single ply heads and I thought those could be the solution. Do they have much resonance to them?

Not too much res on them...I love em...They are a lot sturdier as well. The EVANS G1's are nice but they get dinged up too easily for my taste.

Would you say the studio x's have more resonance than performances 2's do? Or somewhere around a standard two ply head?

I don't like the tom heads (not enough resonance for me) but the rest of the kit's nice.

Just a note, the paragon is not an upgrade from dimensions. They are both pro cymbals, dimensions being more well rounded.

Heres what the companies say about there own crap.
------------------------------------
Paiste says...
The Dimension series are modern, multifunctional cymbals with exceptionally versatile sound and function. They are created from CuSn8 Bronze ("2002") alloy that produces sonic nuances ideal for contemporary music styles. Paiste's "Sonic Texture Formula" is a patent-pending manual surface treatment technique which brings out rich, intricate harmonics to create a fuller, more complex sound.

Hand hammering, hand lathing, and other proprietary methods result in cymbals equally at home in performance and in the studio. The Medium Raw Crash, Medium Heavy Wild Ride, and Medium Crush Ride are powerful, cutting cymbals with advanced character for modern, progressive application in the rock, metal, and punk genres.

Since their introduction in 1999, Dimension series cymbals have become known as "The Working Drummer's Cymbal."
----------------------------------------
And Sabian says...
Handcrafted from pure Sabian B20 bronze, Paragon cymbals are created using automatic AA-style hammering and a mix of sound-defining features from three Sabian series, AA, AAX, and Hand Hammered. The Natural Finish look of these cymbals is enhanced with logo stamping in a subtle 'Rich Gold' ink that is unique to cymbalmaking.
-----------------------------------------

I might be biased, but I tend to think Paragons cost too much for machined cymbals. Kinda like expensive Zildjian platinums. =)

I've only played the EVANS G1's...The Studio's have more res thatn those..

The PARAGON, in my opinion, is an upgrade in sound....Not so much all around quality. I do love PAISTE cymbals though...

Thanks

Since their introduction in 1999, Dimension series cymbals have become known as "The Working Drummer's Cymbal."

Since their discontinument in 2005, the successful models have been consolidated into Paiste's 2002 line. The Paragon has much more ping than the Dimensions does. They actually have two completely different sounds. Both are quality, but only one can sound better to an individual.
