Does anybody here listen to this band?

In case you don't know who they are, they are somewhat of a nu-metal christian band.

They've got 2 or 3 CDs out, but the only one I know by name is Summer of Darkness.
Discuss.

3. Generic? maybe a little, but they actually do ballads, very well I might add.
4. Talentless? The ability to sing and scream equally well, play pretty good guitar solos, and cool drum fills and equals talentless? Not to mention the lyrics are amazing.

I like them, especially their ballads. the vocalist has a good clean voice.

Well, not everything is awful...i really like their ballads. check out "tide begins to rise". but yeah, they're generic as hell, especially their more "hardcore" songs

I could enjoy their style of music, even though its not my bag, if the songs were good, but they aren't so i can't.

Ill Nino is a band that over comes their outdated style with decent songs enough that i can listen, Demonhunter does not.

Some of their stuff is kinda iffy, but there are some pretty solid songs. Their new stuff is kinda ehh, but their cd, The Triptych, has some sick songs like "Undying".

I meant that Demon Hunter is pretty lame as a band but the singer can nail the clean vocals good. You dont have to go all out and insult a band just because you dont like them, I hate close minded people.

Ryan has the best death growls I've heard from anybody in my opinion. They're low and dark...intense, but you can still somewhat understand him. Novembers Doom also has a pretty decent singer as far as death growls goes.

I don't get it. I think it's the whole thing where bands want to be progressive and do something different every album and end up changing what worked for them. It pisses me off.

Eh, for me it depends on the band. Like I wish Sevendust would stop making the same album over and over again, but I wish Incubus would stick to what worked for them back in the S.C.I.E.N.C.E. through Morning View days.

Good examples. That's why Sevendust has kinda gone down the drain. And Incubus was one of the first rock bands I ever liked, and I loved Make Yourself, but Light Grenades was weak. Another one I think is the same kind of situation is Korn. I used to love Korn. But they just got progressively worse, and now I can't even make it through a song on the new album without pressing the skip button.

I agree with all of that. As far as Korn goes, I think they tried on Take a Look In The Mirror or whatever it was called, and that wasn't horrible, but it still wasn't like the older stuff. Yet somehow they are still hugely successful. Makes no sense to me. I guess Nu Metal kids need something to buy.

Yah. Well I kept buying because I was hoping they would go back to what made them so good in my opinion, but they didn't. And then with Untitled(Which was, by the way, an idiotic idea to name the album that), I feel they hit rock bottom. It just flat out sucks.

Same with Incubus, they should get Dirk back no matter what the cost. He made the band.

Their first album isn't very diverse, with the exception of "My Throat Is An Open Grave"...which, is my favorite ballad they've done.

I kinda got bored with Demonhunter soon after making this thread. I still listen to them occasionally, but very rarely. Haven't heard their new stuff.

I liked them a lot better when they were Training For Utopia. They were actually unique back then.
