i was wondering exactly which category relient k falls into... pop-punk? pop/pop rock? punk? personally i think theyre pop/punk. what does anyone else think? and lets not turn this into an "i hate/i love relient k" thread.

You can say a band is whatever genre. For it to be (for example) pop punk, they don't need to have every aspect of pop punk in them, just some of them - They could have more aspects of one genre than another, but it doesn't make them not fit into the genre.

I think they could fit into any of those genres tbh. Maybe squeezing into punk.

But, like Ben said, most bands don't fit exactly into any one genre. Power pop is the most accurate description of Relient K, though.
