Noob help!

Hey i was wondering if anybody could help me out. I wanna give writing a stab but i dont know where to start. everything i write is terrible and i lack topics big time. Does anyone have any good tips for me? Thanks in advanced

well what you should probably do is just find something you feel strongly about, and just write what you feel, the first songs might suck but you will develop your own style, and you will get better...

Also, I probably wouldn't recomend posting your first few tries here if you don't want to take a confidence hit...

my first was met with complete flaming and insult, people telling my I needed a lobotomy etc.

It wasen't too helpful...
