hey guys, i was just wondering: what the hell IS cool edit pro anyway? is it like a recording program all by itself or is it an extra thing to help the recording process? sorry if i sound like a dumbass, i just never learned what it is....haha...

Ever heard of Adobe Audition? it's the precursor to that. It's just like Cubase or Sonar, it's a DAW where you can sequence audio and (I think) MIDI.
