How to record drums

How can I record drums best with only two mics?

What mics are they?
Assuming they're vocal mics, place one 40cm behind the drummers left shoulder and use the other as a room mic.

I was gonna suggest the one behind the shoulder, and the other about a meter infront of the kit at about the same height.
