Ok, I've just made the third instalment to my pointless collection of music, but I'm pretty pleased with the results. (This has got electronic drums in it as well)
'The Show's not Over 'till it's Over'
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/bas/Main.mp3
The song is meant to be the last on an album, and also the last song played live. It's one of those songs where the band keeps playing on straight whilst improvising a nuts solo, shortly followed by the smashing of the equipment. :thumb:
Any feedback appreciated.
Thanks.
(P.S obviously the drums won't sound exactly like that on the real thing, I haven't quite mastered electronic drums yet)

Cheers dude. Writing vocals at the moment and I'm most likely going to re-record parts of the song (it'l be on myspace)
I'm just looking for a few reviews here basically. Anyone else care to share their thoughts? Even if you didn't like it, that's cool, if you could just give a few reasons why that would be great.
Vocal Outline:
Basically about how you're at a party, you really fancy a girl there, but the partys coming to an end and you get that horrible feeling in your gut, a real pressuring feeling. i.e. you've either got to ask her out now or that's going to be the end of it. And everything is getting in your way, i.e. your dads ringing you because he's outside waiting to pick you up, all of the girls friends are talking to her so it's really hard to get a private word in edgeways and you feel to embarased to ask her out infront of her friends. (This is a song from experience lol)
IMAO I think this would be a great end live song, because for one it's got the ability to go on for a lot longer, it's a song you could imagine everyone jumping to, a song where everyone can sing along with it, and also it has a lot of meaning that may well relate to situations in the crowd!

This is definatly the best song you've put up so far, in all respects.
Again, turn down the gain on your distortion, or put the mic farther away from your amp or record it quieter and then just amplify it on your computer. Everything is way too muddled, and it's hard to distinguish things and some parts just end up sounding like noise (and not good noise).
That tapping-part-to-solo at the very end is great and very smoothly done.

Awesome! How did you come up with the intro riffs? I could never come up with a chord progression like that.
Since I also record a lot and stuff, I'm really interested in all the technical stuff (hehe). What program did you use to do the drums? What's your setup for recording guitar..? I would really appreciate that.

Eh...he arpeggio'd some power chords and added the top two strings (just leaving them open).
E-------------0-----------------
B-------0---------------------------
G----------9-----9-------------------
D----9-------------9---------------
A-7--------------------7-----------
E----------------------------------
Something like that. Simple but effective.
(at least that's what it sounded like to me)

Ah yeh, I think it would probably help if I got more of a punky fx pedal I'm still having to use the Line 6 Uber metal.. lol. And if the gain is set any lower it turns into a nasty crunch, on full it sounds amazing but it's way too much for this.
I actually have a Boss GT-6 which would be more ideal but when it comes near my speakers it humms like mad.

lol actually I can't exactly take all credit for that chord sequence, since as I stumbled upon it by mistake. That's how the song started, I was just messing about on the guitar and came across that and thought, ooh, that sounds ok lets record it. lol. It's not like I had the tune in my head before or anything.
Ok, equipment:
PC with Creative Audigy Sound Card
Adobe Auditon (For mixing and the non-distortion fx, i.e. reverb, flanger)
FL Studio (For drums)
Fender Mexican Strat Single Coil
Line 6 Uber Metal (For all distorted sequences)
Squier P-Bass Special
20 Deck of Marlbro Red and a few stellas. (Things can get stressfull, lol)
Eh...he arpeggio'd some power chords and added the top two strings (just leaving them open).

Pretty close actually.
E-------------0--------------------
B-------0--------------------------
G----------8-----8-----------------
D----9-------------9---------------
A-7--------------------7-----------
E----------------------------------
and then E chord postions at the bottom of the fret board, and at 7th and 9th.
Like BridgeToSolace said, simple but effective.
Oh, The Mother Standard, I'm not sure if you've come across this yet, but through this I've learnt that equipment doesn't really have that much to do with it. 50% of it all is mixing. For instance I have a sound card capable of recording at 24bit 96Khz, that's higher quality than CD's. But I still leave it on 44.1 Khz. It's how you mix it that counts. (You probably already know this.. but just incase)
Anyway thanks for your comments guys it's appreciated.
