I seem to have a knack for thinking up "fun games for the Alt/Indie forum".

This one expands on an older thread that I made, where we linked bands as follows; "If you like Wilco, you'll like Califone" or whatever. This one is for all of those with significant others, siblings, or friends with obnoxious musical tastes, and we get to flex our Alt/Indie knowledge muscles to "get them into" a band that's a far cry from their current favorite bands...

IE, say your little sister likes Panic at the Disco, but you want to get her into Screamin' Jay Hawkins...a possible course could be as follows:

PatD > Brand New > Bright Eyes > Cursive > Murder By Death > Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds > Tom Waits > Screamin' Jay Hawkins...

Get it?

I'll start it off. My ladyfriend likes alt. country, but complains when I play anything loud or abrasive. Whoever can link the Old 97's to Converge gets kudos. I can already think of one possible course of action, but it'll be interesting to see how this goes.

I hope this doesn't die immediately.

Fall Out Boy to CFD should be pretty easy, but I'll let someone else do it.
